Maple Grove Police

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in the city during the week of Aug. 20, 2017 through Aug. 26, 2017. Refer to the city’s website Crime Mapping Section for additional details for the crimes of burglary, robbery, arson, theft and vehicle theft.
Sunday, Aug. 20
8000 block of Main St. — There was a report of a possible domestic. Officer made contact and found it to be verbal in nature. Parties felt fine to continue to be together.
12800 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of items stolen from a retail store. Investigation resulted in identifying suspect for charging. Wayne Waller, 60, of Bloomington was cited for shoplifting and trespassed.
18000 block of Gladstone Blvd. — There was a report of an unconscious person. Officer responded. Party found to be having allergic reaction to bee sting. Officer administered care until ambulance arrived and transport victim to the hospital.
89th Ave. & Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of a child in backseat of vehicle showing handcuffs on wrists. Officer made contact and found they were toy handcuffs.
Brian Navoichick, 39, of Elk River was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia on the 8600 block of I-94.
Kwaku Prempeh, 49, of Brooklyn Park was cited for driver’s license restrictions- alcohol and speeding.
Geraldine Slayton-Holseth, 52, of Blaine was cited for fifth degree assault and disorderly conduct on the 13600 block of Grove Drive N.
Noah Johnson, 18, of Maple Grove was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia on the 6800 block of Merrimac Lane N.
Monday, Aug. 21
8100 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of two unlocked bicycles stolen from rack outside of business.
Fountains Drive & Fountains Way — There was a report of a child who had seatbelt wrapped around neck. Officer responded and cut the seat belt. Ambulance arrived to assist. The child had no injuries.
12500 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of a possible domestic in a parking lot of a business. Officer made contact and parties involved stated there was no fight. However, staff wanted them to leave because their behavior was disruptive, parties were cooperative.
Mary Wilson, 48, of Maple Grove was cited for second degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal, second degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08, littering and careless driving at County Road 30 and Upland Lane N.
Tuesday, Aug. 22
12000 block of Meadowlark Circle — There was a report of a vehicle parked in a driveway being egged. No suspects.
12400 block of 90th Place — There was a report of fraudulent activity on a bankcard. Case under investigation.
10000 block of 96th Place — There was a report of loose change stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway overnight.
11000 block of Eagle Lake Blvd. — There was a report of two individuals observed on security camera in homeowner’s yard. Officer made contact with parties, who were selling cards for a fundraiser.
Wednesday, Aug. 23
13800 block of Grove Drive — There was a report of an unruly customer. Officer responded to mediate the transaction. The party left without further incident.
8100 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of a customer possibly under the influence. Officer made contact with party, who was intoxicated. A family member was called to provide ride home.
10500 block of 105th Ave. — There was a report of a domestic disturbance. Officer responded and found it was verbal only. One of the parties had left the residence. No further assistance needed.
Thursday, Aug. 24
Fish Lake Woods Park — An officer found a vehicle in a parking lot after hours. Contact made with person in driver’s seat, who was intoxicated. Brian Whitley, 45, of Maple Grove was cited for third degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty, parked in the park after hours, open bottle and third degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08.
11900 block of Central Park Way — There was a report of a window smashed out with a rock and vehicle gone through. Missing items recovered nearby.
12700 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of stolen items from a place of business. A follow-up investigation needed to identify suspect.
Hwy. 169 & I-694 — There was a report of a person walking along the freeway. Officer made contact and found individual was lost. Advised party of safety issues and provided ride to destination.
Friday, Aug. 25
15000 block of 76th Place — There was a report of a possible burglary. Officers responded, checked the residence, everything in order, no one located.
12000 block of Central Park Way — There was a report of damage to basketball court equipment and trash thrown around. No suspects.
I-94 & Maple Grove Parkway — There was a report of a panhandler getting close to traffic. Officer made contact, provided safety advice and resource contact information.
10000 block of 96th Place — There was a report of a neighbor wearing tactical vest and carrying what appeared to be an assault rifle. Officer made contact and found individual was filming video with friend and was in possession of airsoft gun. Advised of concerns.
Saturday, Aug. 26
11700 block of Central Park Way — There was a report of an individual passed out in backseat of a cab. Officer responded and was able to wake party who gave name of person who could come and take care of them for the night.
8900 block of Sycamore Lane — There was a report of a vehicle on fire in the driveway near a residence. Officers and fire department responded and fire was extinguished without further incident.
Grove Circle & Maple Grove Parkway — There was a report of a verbal confrontation between drivers. Officer responded and discussed appropriate ways to handle the situation.
18000 block of 96th Ave. — There was a report of a domestic. An officer responded and found it was verbal only. The parties were advised of resources and stated there would be no further problems.

During this time period there were 25 property damage traffic accidents and five property damage injury traffic accidents.
