Osseo Police

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in the city of Osseo in June 2017.
Arrests:
A 36-year-old Maple Grove woman was arrested on July 2 on the 600 block of Second Avenue N.E. for driving with a revoked driver’s license. She was issued a citation and released at the scene.
A 57-year-old Brooklyn Park man was arrested on July 5 on the 400 block of County Road 81 for driving with a revoked driver’s license. He was issued a citation and released at the scene.
A 24-year-old Brooklyn Park woman was arrested on July 5 on the 9000 block of 85th Avenue N. for driving with a revoked driver’s license. She was issued a citation and released at the scene.
A 20-year-old Osseo man was arrested on July 7 on the 300 block of First Street N.E. for a Hennepin County misdemeanor warrant. The arrest followed a physical domestic involving his brother. Domestic assault charges were submitted on both parties.
A 24-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested on July 10 on the 10000 block of County Road 81 for gross misdemeanor false information and driving with a suspended driver’s license. He was taken in to custody and booked at the Brooklyn Park Police Department jail.
A 34-year-old Hanover man was arrested on July 10 on the 500 block of Second Avenue S.E. for driving with a revoked driver’s license. He was issued a citation and released at the scene.
A 32-year-old Osseo woman was arrested on July 11 on the 600 block of North Oaks Drive for second degree DWI. She was transported to the Brooklyn Park Police Department for evidentiary testing and then released to her family.
A 23-year-old Osseo man was arrested on July 12 on the 200 block of Fourth Avenue S.E. for driving with a suspended driver’s license. He was issued a citation and released.
A 22-year-old Maple Plain man was arrested on July 16 on the 200 block of Fourth Avenue S.E. for fourth degree DWI. He was taken in to custody and booked at the Brooklyn Park Police Department jail.
A 19-year-old Brooklyn Park man was arrested on July 21 on the 500 block of Central Avenue for driving with a revoked driver’s license. He was issued a citation and released. About 10 minutes later the same officer saw the man driving the vehicle again. He was issued another citation and his vehicle was impounded.
A 27-year-old Maple Grove woman was arrested on July 21 at the intersection of County Road 81 and Jefferson Highway for driving with a suspended driver’s license. She was issued a citation and released at the scene.
A 22-year-old Zimmerman man was arrested on July 23 on the 600 block of Second Avenue N.E. for receiving stolen property, after being found in possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was taken in to custody and booked at Hennepin County jail.
A 23-year-old Maple Grove woman was arrested on July 24 on the 600 block of 93rd Avenue N. for possession of a controlled substance. She was taken in to custody and booked at Hennepin County jail.
A 41-year-old Brooklyn Center man was arrested on July 24 on the 8300 block of County Road 81 for violation of a domestic abuse no contact order. He was turned over to the originating agency.
A 33-year-old Osseo man was arrested on July 25 on the 100 block of Broadway Street W. for an outstanding Dakota County felony warrant. He was taken in to custody and booked at Hennepin County jail.
A 32-year-old Osseo woman was arrested on July 28 on the 100 block of Eighth Avenue N.E. for an outstanding Hennepin County felony warrant. She was taken in to custody and booked at Hennepin County jail.
A 57-year-old Brooklyn Center man was arrested on July 28 on the intersection of 85th Avenue N. and Highway 169 for driving with canceled driver’s license; inimical to public safety. He was taken in to custody and booked at Hennepin County jail. Additional charges were also submitted; stemming from the reason for stop.
A 53-year-old Robbinsdale man was arrested on July 29 on the 200 block of Fifth Street N.W. for an outstanding misdemeanor Hennepin County warrant. He was taken in to custody and booked at Hennepin County jail.
A 22-year-old Duluth man was arrested on July 30 at the intersection of County Road 81 and Zachary Lane N for fourth degree DWI. He was transported to the Osseo Police Department for evidentiary testing and released.
Incidents:
An officer observed a suspicious occupied vehicle in the parking lot of 409 County Road 81 at 1:38 a.m. The officer made contact and found that there was no criminal activity occurring. However, both occupants were juveniles. They were cited for curfew and instructed to go home.
An officer responded to the 8700 block of Jefferson Highway on a theft of a motor vehicle. Witnesses reported a suspicious vehicle in the area of the theft. The officer was able to identify possible suspects based on some of the property that was left in the vehicle. A short while later, Wright County deputies stopped the stolen vehicle and arrested the driver for a DOC warrant and auto theft. The driver was the same person identified by his belongings left behind at the scene.
An officer responded to a commercial intrusion alarm on the 300 block of Fifth Avenue S.E. There were no problems found and the building was secure.
An officer took a suspicious activity report at the Osseo Police Department after two seemingly fraudulent checks were sent to the police department as a donation. The officer was unable to make contact with the issuer of the checks and inventoried them as evidence at the Osseo Police Department.
An officer responded to a loud party complaint on the 10 block of Sixth Street N.W. The officer located two tenants responsible for the party. The officer gave them an opportunity to reduce the noise level and the subjects failed to comply. Both were cited for violation of city ordinance.
An officer responded to a report of a car prowler on the 200 block of Sixth Avenue N.E. The caller reported seeing a man cutting through yards and creeping around vehicles. The officer made contact with the subject and found that he was intoxicated and lost. The officer directed him to the residence he was looking for; two houses away.
An officer responded to a commercial burglary alarm on the 300 block of First Avenue N.E. No problems were found and the building was secure.
An officer responded to a theft report on the 300 block of Broadway Street E. The victim reported that sometime overnight two Stihl backpack-style leaf blowers were taken from a trailer in their driveway. The officer created a watch for the items in the automated property system. There are no suspects at this time.
An officer responded to a theft report on the 10 block of Fifth Avenue N.E. The victim reported that his utility trailer was taken from alongside his garage next to the alley. The officer submitted a vehicle theft report to have the trailer entered as stolen. There are no suspects.
An officer observed suspicious activity on the 600 block of Second Avenue N.E. A subject was standing in the middle of the roadway and then walked in between residences. Shortly after, a vehicle pulled up in front of the same residence. The officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. The driver told the officer he was at the residence to purchase marijuana. The officer observed an open beer can in the center console and cited the driver. The occupants were advised to leave and not attempt to purchase marijuana there again.
An officer conducted a welfare check on an individual found sitting against the Osseo Police Department wearing an orange towel on his head and a large piece of packing tape across his forehead. The subject stated that he was there to file a harassment restraining order against the Osseo Police Department. The officer recognized the subject from previous controlled substance related contacts. The officer gave him information on how to obtain an HRO and advised him to come back during regular business hours to get the rest of the information he requested. He has not since returned.
Accidents:
An officer responded to a property damage accident involving two vehicles at the intersection of County Road 81 and Third Street S.E. The officer facilitated the exchange of information.
An officer responded to a property damage accident report involving a vehicle and cyclist on the 300 block of Second Avenue N.W. The cyclist reported striking a silver vehicle as he crossed First Avenue N.E. The vehicle’s occupants checked on him before continuing on. The cyclist was uninjured and did not have any information on the vehicle he struck.
An officer responded to a property damage accident involving two vehicles at the intersection of County Road 81 and Jefferson Highway. The officer facilitated the exchange of information and submitted a state crash report.
