Maple Grove Police

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in the city during the week of April 30, 2017 through May 6, 2017. Refer to the city’s website Crime Mapping Section for additional details for the crimes of burglary, robbery, arson, theft and vehicle theft.
Sunday, April 30
82nd Ave. & Main St.. — There was a report of an intoxicated female who exited a cab and walked toward the park.
10800 block of 95th Ave. — There was a report of a burglary in progress. It was determined to be an intoxicated male who attempted entry. Jeffery Castle, 43, of Plymouth was cited for disturbance in a neighborhood and fleeing a police officer.
7600 block of Wedgewood Court — There was a report of a head injury. The party was transported to the hospital for care.
6600 block of Ives Lane — There was a report of a theft of purse from a vehicle.
13000 block of 83rd Way — There was a report of a customer who was upset over an item being out of stock and wanted police assistance. The party was cooperative and left the store after speaking with officer.
Mitchell Lewison, 18, of Maple Grove was cited for underage liquor consumption on the 10200 block of 94th Ave. N.
Monday, May 1
8600 block of Vagabond Lane — There was a report of an unlocked vehicle stolen from a driveway.
8800 block of Holly Lane — There was a report of a theft/burglary. Items stolen from two unlocked vehicles in a driveway. The garage door was up and opener missing.
7400 block of Fernbrook Lane — There was a report of a suspicious vehicle. Found two males smoking cigars.
6800 block of Vicksburg Lane — There was a report of multiple items stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a driveway.
Christopher Andersen, 32, of Clearwater was cited for theft on the 11900 block of 73rd Ave. N.
Tuesday, May 2
18000 block of 87th Ave. — There was a report of a suspicious vehicle. It was found to be a realtor taking photographs.
9800 block of 101st Place — There was a report of a bunny stuck in window well. The bunny was rescued and released.
12000 block of Bass Lake Road — There was a report of a female walking. A male was following, yelling out of the vehicle. It was her father, they were arguing and he was trying to have his daughter return home.
Gary Kanuit, 65, of Eden Prairie was cited for DWI- refusal to submit to chemical test, second degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty, careless driving, tampering with ignition interlock and wrong way at Hemlock Lane and I-694.
Wednesday, May 3
7900 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of items stolen from a store.
7700 block of Main St. — There was a report of a theft of a wallet from a purse and fraud committed with credit cards.
13500 block of 89th Circle — There was a report of loud music coming from a residence. The homeowner was cooperative when informed of complaint.
99th Place N. & Union Terrace Lane — There was a report of people running around and yelling at each other. They were playing a game of football.
73rd Place & Quantico Lane — There was a report of car prowlers who were chased away by witnesses.
Deborah Wick, 59, of Maple Grove was cited for disorderly conduct and domestic assault on the 12400 block of 89th Place N.
Sterling Shoats, 31, of Maple Grove was cited for disorderly conduct and domestic assault on the 6300 block of Quinwood Lane N.
Thursday, May 4
12000 block of Meadowlark Court — There was a report of a burglary. Numerous items taken.
9800 block of 107th Place — There was a report of a squirrel who chased a child twice. Animal relocated.
9500 block of Garland Lane — There was a report of prescriptions stolen from a locker.
8500 block of Kirkwood Lane — There was a report of noises outside a patio door. Nothing was located.
Julie Hamilton, 51, of Maple Grove was cited for fourth degree DUI at I-94 and Weaver Lake Road.
Kevin White, 34, of St. Paul was cited for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle at Hwy. 610 and Maple Grove Parkway.
Friday, May 5
8500 block of Kirkwood Lane — There was a report of a person going through trash cans.
15600 block of Grove Circle — There was a report of a fire near a utility box. The fire department responded to the scene.
11200 block of Fountains Drive — There was a report of a theft of items from a store.
6200 block of Meadowlark Lane — There was a report of theft of items from an unlocked vehicle.
Saturday, May 6
9500 block of Pilgrim Lane — There was a report of an unconscious party. The person responded to recovery measures and was transported to the hospital.
12000 block of Main St. — There was a report of broken glass on a display case.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of fraudulent credit card activity at a business.
93rd Ave. & Saratoga Lane — There was a report of a person laying in a yard. A party was waiting for a ride.
8400 block of Forestview Lane — There was a report of a fire that was extinguished upon arrival although caused some damage to home.
Leah Hautla-Koskie, 30, of St. Francis was cited for third degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty, third degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08, careless driving and hit and run.

During this time period there were 34 property damage traffic accidents and 6 property damage injury traffic accidents.
