Maple Grove Police

The following is a synopsis of incidents that occurred in the city during the week of Feb. 26 through March 4. Refer to the city’s website crime mapping section for additional details for the crimes of burglary, robbery, arson, theft and vehicle theft.

Sunday, Feb. 26
12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd — There was a report of fight between staff and customer; officers arrived and customer left in cab. No charges.
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane — A CSO arrived to unlock a vehicle with keys inside for a party, who arrested for warrants.
8600 block of Valley Forge Lane — There was a report of an iPhone stolen from gym bag. There are no suspects at this time.
12000 block of 99th Avenue —  Maple Grove homeowners left their garage door open overnight and several items were stolen from inside. There are no suspects at this time.
Lynn Powers, 77, of Maple Grove was cited for DUI, two counts of DWI, and careless driving on the 12100 block of Main Street.
Monday, Feb. 27
11000 block of Fountains Way — There was a report of a customer ordered food and ate it; they complained about the food and left without paying the bill; officers made contact with party, who returned and paid the bill.
11000 block of Fountains Drive —  A party walked into a business, picked up a guitar then ran out of the store, into a vehicle that drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers are following up on a possible suspect.
Tuesday, Feb. 28
13300 block of Bass Lake Road — There was a report of a person pumping gas into a vehicle and driving off without paying. An officer made contact with the registered owner who paid for the gas. No charges.
9600 block of Grove Circle — There was a report of a terminated employee causing a scene inside business. Officers arrived and cited Rekaiya Dupree, 26, of Maple Grove for assault, disorderly conduct and refusal to leave upon lawful demand.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of two parties selecting clothing items, putting them on in fitting room, then leaving without paying. Officers made contact with Easton Giese, 18, of St. Michael and Joel Zeller, 55, of Maple Grove who were trespassed and cited for the theft. Zeller was also cited for two counts DWI, DUI, careless driving and speeding.
Wednesday, March 1
7000 block of Shadyview Lane — Officers responded to a report of a dog falling through the ice on a pond behind a residence. Officers and firefighters were able to rescue dog via catchpole.
9700 block of 69th Avenue — There was a report of items missing from inside residence, officers learned lower level door was unlocked, possible entry point. The case is being follow up on for possible suspect.
Thursday, March 2
12000 block of 82nd Avenue — There was a report of an iPhone 7 stolen out of gym bag while inside business. There are no suspects at this time.
7900 block of Main Street — There was a report of a person receiving expensive treatment at business; stated needed to go to vehicle to get wallet and never returned to pay; officer following up to identify suspect.
9500 block of Lawndale Lane — Officers responded to a report of 10 gallons of gas being siphoned out of a vehicle parked in driveway overnight. There are no suspects at this time.
Friday, March 3
93rd Place and Lawndale Lane — An officer observed elderly male standing on corner in pajamas, holding picture frame; officer made contact, person confused. Located his residence and brought him home. No injuries.
12000 block of 95th Avenue — A homeowner woke by their barking dog and saw a person trying to remove the screen door and open patio door. The person saw the homeowner and ran off. Officers could not locate anyone in area.
12000 block of Main Street — There was a report of a person harassing people in transit ramp and getting hostile. Officers made contact with person who was later arrested for warrants and controlled substances.
Saturday, March 4
9000 block of Garland Lane — An officer noticed a vehicle parked at a closed business and made contact. Haley Greene, 20, of Inver Grove Heights and Antoinette Hicks, 18, of West St. Paul were cited for underage consumption. Additionally, Yesenia Garcia, 20, of St. Paul was cited for possessing liquor under the age of 21.
13000 block of Bass Lake Road — There was a report of a vehicle window smashed out while owner was inside business. There are no suspects at this time.
Joseph Soderlund, 45, of Plymouth was cited for DUI, two counts DWI, careless driving and public nuisance.
Kelly Blanchette, 25, of Maple Grove was cited for DUI and two counts DWI.
During this time period there were 23 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accident.
