National Tractor Pull
AUG. 23 — The National Tractor Pullers will hold a championship event beginning at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23 at Corcoran Lions Park, 20121 County Road 10. Competitions will feature super farm tractors, pro farm tractors, pro stock semis, four wheel drive trucks, two wheel drive trucks and heavy super stock tractors. Laurencia’s Victory 5K
AUG. 23 — Laurencia’s Victory, a newly formed nonprofit supporting orphans, adoptive families, and others in need, is having their first major fundraising event at 8:30 am Saturday, Aug. 23. The event will be held starting at the Public Works building in St. Michael and will be an “out and back” 5k race. There will be races for little ones of all ages (including a diaper derby) and many great prizes and surprises for all. The event is a “birthday party” for Laurencia and her surviving identical twin, Valencia. Laurencia died shortly after birth last year Aug. 26 due to anencephaly. Laurencia’s Victory was founded by their mother, Katrina (Dehmer) Witschen, to help children and families in need in honor of her daughter’s life and to build a legacy of hope in despair.
