Meet the 2014 Maple Grove Ambassador candidates

 

The Maple Grove Ambassador Program has kicked-off the 2014 season. People can see all 16 candidates and outgoing royalty during the Maple Grove Days Pierre Bottineau Parade Thursday, July 10, beginning at 6:10 p.m.

On Friday, July 11, during the Maple Grove Ambassador Coronation, three candidates will be selected by an independent panel of judges to serve as Maple Grove Ambassadors, representing the city of Maple Grove throughout various community and civic events. Coronation begins at 7 p.m. at Maple Grove Senior High School. Tickets are $10 at the door, or $2 off with a Maple Grove Days button. This year’s program is sponsored by Whirly Ball Twin Cities.

Join the newly crowned Maple Grove Ambassadors Friday night at the Gala in the Grove. This event is free and will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo.

The new 2014 Maple Grove Ambassadors will be walking around Maple Grove Days festivities Saturday, July 12.

Kelsey Botkin

Kelsey graduated from Maple Grove Senior High this spring and will be attending the University of Colorado- Boulder in the fall to study biochemistry. While in high school, she played volleyball, ran long-distance track and was nominated to play in the Music Ambassador’s State Wide Band. Kelsey loves to learn new things and is currently teaching herself calculus and Italian. Kelsey is sponsored by Z’s Smokin Bonez.

Lindsay Breidenbach 

A recent graduate from Maple Grove Senior High, Lindsay lettered three times in academics and was named the captain of the synchronized swim team. She will be attending the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities in the fall to study neurology in the College of Biological Sciences. Lindsay loves art and spends her free time up-cycling jewelry. Lindsay is sponsored by Yellow Tree Theatre.

Andrea Carline

Andrea is a junior at Osseo Senior High where she plays volleyball and lacrosse. A National Honor Society member, she plans to go to college in 2015 to study marketing and business. In her free time, Andrea enjoys baking and would even like to open her own bakery someday. Andrea is sponsored by Mongo’s Grill.

Alissa Dahle-Koch

Alissa is a recent grad from Minnetonka High School and will attend the University of North Dakota in the fall to study physics and Spanish. A true winter sports fan, Alissa has participated in figure skating, synchronized skating and nordic skiing. Alissa is sponsored by Kotteman Othodontics.

Natalie Engel

A recent graduate from Maple Grove Senior High, Natalie is the captain of the girls soccer team. This fall, she’ll be attending Anoka Ramsey Community College. A true soccer fan, Natalie is a coach and trainer at the Maple Brook Soccer Association. Natalie is sponsored by Etica Salon.

Kathryn Fox

Kathryn recently graduated with honors from Maple Grove Senior High. A true animal lover, she plans to attend the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities in the fall to study animal science with a pre-vet focus. Kathryn is an avid golfer and played on the Maple Grove Girls Golf team for four years. Kathryn is sponsored by Rush Creek Golf Club.

Ellen Grabinski

Ellen is a junior at Osseo Senior high where she was awarded the Human Med Bio Student of the Year award. She keeps busy by participating in cheerleading, lacrosse and dance. When she’s not on the sideline, the field or on stage, she’s enjoying time on the lake doing water sports. Ellen is sponsored by Arbor Lakes Dental.

Maddy Jaeger

Maddy is a recent graduate from Maple Grove Senior High, where she was recognized as the 2013 Foreign Language Student of the Year for her studies in French. She is passionate about nutrition and her dream job is to work with the Emily Program to help young women struggling with eating disorders. When she’s not hosting at Redstone in Maple Grove, you can find Maddy running or reading. Maddy is sponsored by Snap Fitness.

Maria Kaldahl

Maria recently graduated with honors from Maple Grove Senior high and will be attending the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities to major in biology and minor in child psychology. She has aspirations of one day becoming a pediatrician. Maria loves the outdoors, playing softball and running hurdles in track. Maria is sponsored by Donato’s Floral.

Jillian Klasen

Jillian recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High on the A Honor Roll. She’ll be attending the University of Minnesota- Duluth in the fall to pursue a major in marketing and graphic design and a minor in business administration. An avid golfer, Jillian represented maple Grove in the girl’s state golf tournament in June. Jillian is sponsored by Broman Chiropractic.

Mimi Le

Mimi is a junior at Osseo Senior High where she was recently awarded the President’s Education Award. Her career goal is to obtain a doctorate’s degree in nursing and specialize in neonatal or emergency room care. Mimi is a competitive cheerleader and enjoys cooking and volunteering in the community. Mimi is sponsored by Maple Grove Auto Service.

Elise Loveless

Elise is currently a junior at Maple Grove Senior High where she is on on the A Honor Roll and participates in the National Honor Society. Her future education goals include attending the University of Minnesota to study nutrition and dietetics. When she’s not on the golf course or the ski slopes, you will find her running, cooking or spending time with her family. Elisa is sponsored by Jane Schmidt, Keller Williams Real Estate.

Megan Nelson

Megan recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High and plans to attend the University of Minnesota- Duluth for integrated elementary and special education training. While in high school, she participated in track and field and cross country. Megan looks forward to molding young minds as a role model and elementary school teacher. Megan is sponsored by Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapels.

Precious Paye

Precious is a recent graduate from Osseo Senior High where she was a cheerleader and a seasoned viola player. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and exercising. This fall she plans to attend college to become a nurse. Precious is sponsored by Learning Rx.

Katie Powell

As an Osseo Senior High graduate, Katie had seven varsity letters in dance and sports management. In the fall, she plans to attend the Minnesota School of Cosmetology and Bemidji State University to major in sports management and minor in sociology. Katie looking forward to cheerleading for hockey or football in college. Katie is sponsored by Rich Moll Photography.

Paige Terry

Recent Maple Grove Senior High grad, Paige Terry, enjoys competitive cheerleading and soccer. In the fall, she plans to attend the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities to become a pediatrician. This career path is perfect for Paige, as she loves working with kids in her nannying job. Paige is sponsored by Huntington Learning Center.
