Maple Grove, OPC boys’ lacrosse team up in effort to beat blood cancer

The boys’ lacrosse game between Maple Grove and Osseo/Park Center Friday, May 2, will take on added meaning this year.

The schools are dedicating the 7 p.m. game to promoting the HEADstrong Foundation, a lacrosse organization dedicated to beating blood cancer. Both teams will be wearing special uniform accessories to support the cause. There will be shirts that fans can purchase to raise funds and there is additional gear available on the HEADstrong website (http://headstrong.org). Maple Grove/OPC is one of a number of rivalry games across the Twin Cities supporting this cause.

For more information on the game contact Crimson coach Gig Willson (Gilbert.Willson@sungard.com) or Maple Grove Lacrosse High School Operations Director Dale Kraus (dale.kraus@gmail.com).
