LeRoy Welter

LeRoy Francis Welter, age 79, of St. Michael passed away on Easter morning, April 20th, 2014 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.
He was born on October 4, 1934 in St. Michael the son of Dominic & Agnes (Hackenmueller) Welter.
LeRoy engaged in farming with dairy and hogs for many years on the family homestead on the north edge of St. Michael. He was later employed for eighteen years at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.
On June 26, 1999, LeRoy Welter and Lois Oium were joined in holy marriage at The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.
He enjoyed gardening, traveling, visiting with people and was a sports fan especially the Minnesota Vikings and The Minnesota Twins.
LeRoy was a faithful, lifelong member of The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael and belonged to the Knights of Columbus.
Survived by wife: Lois O. Welter of St. Michael; sisters and a brother: Marion Welter, SSND of St. Paul, Doris Welter, SSND of Mankato, Harold Harry (Marlene) Welter of St. Michael and Kathryn Welter of Wiesbaden, Germany; a sister-in-law: Mily Welter of Rockville, Maryland; two nephews and a niece: Anthony (Laura) Welter of St. Louis Park, Lisa (John) Kessler of St. Michael & Philip (Sasha) Welter of Gaithersburg, Maryland; two great nephews: Logan & Aiden Kessler; other relatives and many friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Dominic & Agnes Welter and by a brother: Lloyd Welter.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for LeRoy Welter was held on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014 at The St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Father Peter Richards and Father Jerome Hackenmueller were Concelebrants.
Casket Bearers were Tony Welter, Carl Welter, Steve Welter, John Kessler, Jim Hackenmueller and Kevin Chilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The St. Michael Catholic Church.
