Six of Maple Grove Senior High’s top students (Alex Ducosin, Trevor Gifft, Rhea Khattoi, Chris Orner, Yogitha Posani and Sophia Vrba) were selected through an interview process by Maple Grove Senior High School staff and Maple Grove Rotarians to be Junior Rotarians for a year.

The Maple Grove Rotary Club is made up of local business men and women who volunteer together to help make the world a better place. The Rotary’s motto is Service Above Self.

These six MGSH students are then mentees of the club for the 2013-14 school year. The students attend monthly Rotary meetings, volunteer with the Rotarians, learn about their various careers and then design their own Junior Rotarian Legacy Project.

This year’s group (staying with the theme Service Above Self) organized about 50 students help them make 100 tie blankets to be given to the homeless families in the school district. The tie blankets were made Saturday March 22, from 9 a.m. to noon in the high school cafeteria.
