Dist. 30 Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer and St. Michael-Albertville Supt. James Behle presented a bill in Education Finance committee (SF 2567) that would help offset funding inequity for Dist. 885.

“I have long been dismayed by the education funding inequity for the school districts in Senate District 30. The bill we heard today in committee will assist St. Michael-Albertville schools with much needed operating revenue,” Kiffmeyer said. “I will continue to work with the school boards and superintendents in my district to get our per-pupil funding up to the state average.”

The current state average is $10,433 per pupil. The per pupil average for St. Michael-Albertville $7,887.
