Quilt exhibit 

FEB. 4 TO MARCH 1 — The Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E., will kick off its sixth annual quilt exhibit with an open house on Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. The open house will include quilting demonstrations and refreshments. Sponsors are the Calico Quilters who will also be presenters for the evening. People who would like to display their quilts are invited to bring them to the library by Feb. 1. The exhibit will continue during library open hours between Feb. 4 and March 1.

Town hall meeting

FEB. 13 — Two area legislators will host a town hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13 at Delano City Hall, 234 Second St. N. in Delano. Sen. Bruce Anderson, R-Buffalo, and Rep. Joe McDonald, R-Delano, invite District 29 citizens to come and discuss a wide variety of issues before the 2014 session begins Feb. 25. The legislators welcome thoughts, ideas and suggestions from constituents and also will provide their insight regarding what is in store at the Capitol. Sen. Corcoran council

FEB. 13 — Corcoran City Council will meet Thursday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. at city hall at 8200 County Rd. 116.

Books With Boone 

FEB, 14 — Boone, a certified Reading Education Assistance Dog, will be at the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E. from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14. School age children are invited to register for 15 minutes of one-on-one reading time with Boone, an experience that will encourage reading confidence and success. LCAA fundraiser breakfasts

FEB. 16, MARCH 16 — The Loretto Community Athletic Association will hold fundraiser breakfasts from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Sunday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, March 16 at Dobo’s Cafe and Bakeshop, 4425 Highway 55, Medina. Proceeds will support programs such as youth baseball.

1,000 Hearts

FEB. 17 — There will be a meeting on Monday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Riverwood Covenant Church in Greenfield to plan the May 18 service event. Women of Today

FEB. 17 — The Maple Grove Chapter of Women of Today hosts its monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month. The group invites everyone to join them at the Maple Grove Community Center at 7 p.m. Guests from Maple Grove and surrounding communities are welcome. The mission of Women of Today is to help women improve their own lives and the lives of the people in their communities. FEB. 17 — The Rockford Lions meet monthly on the second and third Mondays, monthly, at 7 p.m. in the Lions Building at Riverside Park. Stop in and check out this fun and growing club. Adult Writer’s Group

Delano Chamber of Commerce

FEB. 20 — Delano Area Chamber of Commerce members will learn about the Delano Healthy Community Initiative at their general membership meeting from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20 at Delano City Hall, Bridge Avenue at Second Street. Complimentary appetizers from Applebee’s will be served. The Chamber will not charge a lunch fee but RSVPs are needed by noon, Wednesday, Feb. 19. FEB. 24 — The Delano School Board will meet Monday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at Delano City Hall, located on Bridge Avenue at Second Street.

Bivoli Folkdancing

FEB. 25 — Come and learn international dances that are fun and easy to learn. Bivoli Folkdancing will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month on the second floor of the Heritage Center, Bridge Avenue and Second Street in Delano. No experience or partner is necessary. Drop-in when ever you can and stay as long as you want. Bring a reusable water bottle and wear comfortable walking shoes. Cost is one dollar per session.

It’s Just Coffee

FEB. 25 — Come meet your neighbors, share a cup of coffee and talk. Bring a friend and join in the fun.  It’s Just Coffee meets the last Tuesday of every month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Your memories of Greenfield History are always welcome as this is also the home of The Greenfield Historical Society. 12 West Toastmasters

WOW Wellness on Wheels
