Anoka-Hennepin leads cancellation charge

Anoka-Hennepin District 11 is among the first to close Tuesday, Jan. 28. All classes and activities are canceled.

This is the fifth day this month school has been called off.

The district has yet to make a decision about whether school days will have to be made up, according to Kay Villella, assistant director of communications and public relations for the district.

Wind chills are expected to remain near 40 below tomorrow. Such severe cold can cause frostbite in five to 10 minutes, according to the National Weather Service.
