Osseo puckmen get first win at Warroad Holiday Tournament

Osseo boys’ hockey team picked up its first win of the season in a 7-2 rout of International Falls in the opening game of the Warroad Tournament Dec. 26.

Ben Christofferson scored a hat trick, Mason Hautala and Rudy Alexander both had a goal and two assists. Anthony Fetzek and Brendan Hoben scored the other goals. Connor Dahlberg made 18 saves for the win.

Trailing 1-0 in the first period, Fetzek netted the equalizer and Christofferson scored two straight goals to put Osseo up to stay.

Warroad defeated Osseo 6-2 in the next game. Fetzek and Austin Ledin scored the Osseo goals.

Osseo lost the final tournament game to Grafton (N.D.) 3-2. Christofferson and Cameron Perna scored the Osseo goals.

The Orioles return to action Saturday, Jan. 4 at Centennial.
