The future groom, a 2008 graduate of Proctor High School, graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2012 with a bachelors degree in Environmental Studies. He works at Brickman Group as a water management apprentice.
On Dec. 15, 2012, Garret planned a surprise proposal to take place at Bentleyville in downtown Duluth. Laurens family was in on it and they planned a weekend of Christmas shopping in Duluth. Little did Lauren know that their friends were waiting in the warming shack at the ice skating rink. Friends and family alike got to witness Garret bending down on one knee to propose to Lauren in front of the Christmas tree!
It took a few moments to untie the mistletoe from the ring, but it was a very romantic, well-decorated site for a wedding proposal!
