The following public safety summary information from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit is provided to residents as a public service. These highlights from Nov. 18 through 24 do not reflect all incidents handled or investigated by the HCSO during this time period.
In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford.
On Nov. 18 deputies responded to an address on Hwy. 55 for a smoke alarm. Deputies arrived and found a smoke filled apartment with a smoking pan on the stove. Rockford Fire arrived and took over care of the smoke. No injuries. No other action was taken.
On Nov. 24 deputies responded to an address along Hwy. 55 on a medical. A female was complaining of leg pain. Upon the deputy’s arrival, Rockford Fire/Rescue was caring for the victim. The victim was transported to Maple Grove Hospital for further evaluation. No other action was taken.
On Nov. 19 deputies responded to a business on 69th Avenue North on a suspicious person. A female reported a male sitting in his vehicle and appeared the male was trying to get into the business. The deputy arrived and made contact with the suspect and confirmed he was at the business to do some fence work. No other action was taken.
On Nov. 21 deputies responded to an address on 71st Lane North on a welfare check. The deputy made contact with all parties and requested North Ambulance respond to evaluate the suspect. North Ambulance arrived and determined everything and everyone to be okay. The deputy advised all parties involved to contact police again if there were any more problems. No other action was needed.
On Nov. 21 deputies responded to the area of Hwy. 55 and Dogwood Street for a property damage accident report. Deputies arrived and spoke to parties involved. The deputy learned that vehicle two was making a left turn going westbound when she struck vehicle one, who was at a stop in the eastbound lane, waiting to turn. Both vehicles were disabled and were towed at the scene by Loretto’s towing. A State Accident report was completed. No other action was needed.
On Nov. 23 deputies responded to a business in the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a gas drive off report. An employee reported $35.00 worth of gas was pumped into a white Chevrolet and the driver did not pay for it. The deputy attempted to make contact with the registered owner but was unable to. The employee stated due to her knowing the customer, she will attempt to make contact with the suspect. No other action was taken.
On Nov. 23 deputies responded to a business in the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a gas drive off report. An employee reported someone put $5.06 worth of gas into a white vehicle and drove off. The information given to the deputy did not match computer checks. No suspect at this time. No other action was taken.
