Hennepin County Sheriff’s report

PoliceLicensePlateThe following public safety summary information from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit is provided to residents as a public service. These highlights from Nov. 4 through Nov. 10, 2013 do not reflect all incidents handled or investigated by the HCSO during this time period.

In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford.

Greenfield

On Nov. 5 deputies responded to an address on Hidden Lane on a threat report. A female reported being threatened by a UPS driver. The reporting party explained that her dogs were out playing when the driver showed up and one of the dogs barked at him. After the driver dropped off the package, the driver made a verbal threat to the reporting party. The reporting party requested a report be made. No other action was needed.

On Nov. 9 deputies responded to a business in the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 on a gas drive off report. An employee reported a tan vehicle put $8.00 worth of gas into the vehicle and drove off without paying. The deputy was unable to make contact with the registered owner. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating this incident.

On Nov. 9 deputies responded to a business in the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 on a gas drive off report. An employee reported a vehicle put $47.93 worth of gas into the vehicle and did not pay for it. The deputy made contact with the father of the driver who stated he will go to the business and take care of the bill. No other action was needed.

Week of Nov. 11 – 17

These highlights from Nov. 11 through 17 do not reflect all incidents handled or investigated by the HCSO during this time period.

Dayton

On Nov. 16 deputies responded to an address on Elm Creek Road to assist Dayton Police on an assault. Deputies responded to the suspect’s residence and arrested the suspect. The suspect was turned over to Dayton Police. No other action was taken.

Rockford

On Nov. 17 deputies responded to an address on Hwy. 55 for an assault report. Deputies responded to the hospital to interview the victim. The suspect was located at the residence and arrested. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating this incident.

Corcoran

On Nov. 13 deputies responded to an address on County Road 19 to assist Corcoran Police Officers with an open door at a residence. The deputy arrived and spoke to a neighbor who believed the homeowner was out of town. The deputy checked the residence and everything appeared to be okay. The deputy was able to secure the open garage. No other action taken.

Rogers

On Nov. 15 deputies responded to the area of County Road 81 and John Milless Drive for a property damage accident report. The deputy arrived and spoke to the parties involved and learned that the driver of vehicle two rear-ended the bus while the bus was stopped for an emergency vehicle. No injuries. A State Accident report was completed. No other action was taken.

Greenfield

On Nov. 15 deputies responded to the area of Hwy. 55 and Dogwood Street for a property damage accident report. A 55-year old male driver was driving on westbound Hwy. 55 when a deer jumped out in front of him, causing front end damage. A State Accident report was completed. No other action was taken.

On Nov. 15 deputies responded to the area of Dogwood Street approximately 2/10 mile north of South Lake Sarah Drive for a property damage accident report. The deputy arrived and spoke to the parties involved and learned that vehicle one was driving southbound when it struck a deer with the front of the vehicle. The deer was thrown into the northbound land where it was struck by vehicle two. A State Accident report was completed. No other action was taken.
