Maple Grove girls’ cross country team takes 3rd in conference meet

6 runners receive all-conference honors


The Maple Grove girls’ cross country team had a strong showing at the conference championships despite the challenging and hilly course of the Elk River Country Club.

The Crimson finished third in the team standing. They were paced by senior leader Kendall Johnson (17th, 16:09.8) ,  who was followed by seventh grader Lexi Miller, (18th in 16:10.2), senior Olivia Rosenow  (20th in 16:14.5), freshman Jena Hauch  (25th, 16:31.3), freshman Taylor Rosacker (27th in 16:36.5), sophomore Lauren Scheidler  (31st in 16:40.1), and senior Leah Jackels  (38th in 16:44.3).

Maple Grove was well represented on the all-conference team with Johnson, Miller and Rosenow. Honorable mention honors were awarded to teammates Hauch, Rosacker, and Scheidler.

The Crimson have a week off from racing as they prepare for the section meet in Anoka Thursday, Oct. 24.
