Rockford celebrates ‘Homecoming 2013’ with big bang and bright lights

On Friday, Sept. 27, the community is invited to attend the annual Homecoming Game at Rockford Area School’s, District 883, remodeled field. The halftime show will include the newly crowned Homecoming Royalty and district mascot “Rockee.”

A public fireworks display will follow the game against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, and a student dance will finish up the evening.

Ticket prices for the football game are $6 for adults and $4 for children and senior citizens living outside of the school district. Tickets for senior citizens living in the school district are free.

The entire homecoming week, kicking off on Monday, Sept. 23, is filled with fun, school and community spirit activities.

On Monday, at 7 p.m. in the RHS auditorium, a new homecoming queen and king will be crowned, and a royalty luncheon is planned for earlier in the day.

There will be pep fests at all Rockford Area Schools throughout the week and students are encouraged to participate in the following theme days beginning Monday: ’80s Day, Super Hero Day, Class Color Day, Red Carpet Day and Spirit Day.
