Yellow Tree presents ‘Sylvia’
NOW TO JUNE 23 — Yellow Tree Theatre, 320 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Osseo will present “Sylvia” directed by A.R. Gurney. This sweet and loony play chronicles the story of middle-aged couple, Greg and Kate, who have just settled down in their new cozy Manhattan apartment after twenty years of child-rearing in the suburbs. When Greg, bored and on the verge of a mid-life crisis, brings home his frisky four-legged new friend, Sylvia, the zany action begins. With her soulful brown eyes and adventurous spirit, Sylvia quickly becomes a bone of contention between husband and wife. Directed by Anne Byrd. Starring: Mary Fox, Sean Byrd, Katie Wodele and Tristan Tifft. Performances run now through June 23, with shows at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sunday shows. 14th annual rock swap in Osseo
JUNE 15 — The 14th annual Anoka Gem and Mineral Club’s Rock Swap will be Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Osseo United Methodist Church parking lot, E. Broadway and Second Ave. S.E. in Osseo. Everyone is encouraged to attend this free event and bring their rocks to trade, sell or show off to other rock hounds. The swap is exclusively and rock/gem related event. Dealers will be available to identify rocks or value collections. People may bring their own table with rock or gem related items and join the fun. Mormon Tabernacle Choir
JUNE 20 — The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will perform in Minnesota for the first time in more than 20 years. The concert, which takes place Thursday, June 20, at the Target Center will be the final stop of the choir’s Upper Midwest Tour. It will feature the 360-voice world-renowned choir and 65 members of the Orchestra at Temple Square. The choir’s repertoire will cover everything from Bach and Broadway to American folk hymns and spirituals. The concert is presented by Classical Minnesota Public Radio.
