Not long ago, Vicky and Todd Zimmerman of Rogers were looking at the photos of big winners on the Lottery’s website and wished that they would see themselves on the page someday. Todd said that they just had to keep trying.

They didn’t have to wait long. On May 21, Vicky uncovered a $100,000 win while playing a Minnesota Gold 5X scratch ticket.

“I started screaming and jumping around,” she recalled.

She showed the ticket to Todd and they decided to take it to a lottery retailer to double check that it was really a winning ticket. Vicky and Todd used a scanner available for players to check the ticket.

“We knew it was a big winner when it said, ‘Claim at Lottery office,’ ” said Todd.

The next day, the couple took the ticket to the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville and Vicky claimed the prize.

Holiday Stationstore, located at 13028 Main St. in Rogers, sold the winning ticket.
