Josiah’s Hope benefit sale

MAY 15 THROUGH 18 — The Highlands of St. Michaels Annual Neighborhood Sale, benefiting Josiah’s Hope Orphan Care Ministries, is Wednesday through Saturday, May 15 through 18, at 4619 Lasalle Court NE, St. Michael. Donate gently used items to help vulnerable children in need. Call Kimberly at 612-670-4878 to arrange pick-up or drop off at your convenience. Join for refreshments and information about this year’s recipients. As always, children are welcome and there will be activity stations for them to be involved.

Josiah’s Hope Orphan Care Ministry was founded by Tony and Kimberly Del Percio following the death of their adopted son, Josiah, from a complication following his fourth open-heart surgery. The ministry’s mission is to raise awareness and funds for orphans and special needs children worldwide.

Rogers clean up day

MAY 18 — City of Rogers Clean Up Day is Saturday, May 18, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rogers Public Works Building, 22350 South Diamond Lake Rd. (West of Kohl’s)

Service available for Rogers residents only. No contractors please.

Hanover Clean Up Day

MAY 18 — Hanover’s Spring Clean Up Day is Saturday, May 18, from 8 am to noon, rain or shine at the City Hall parking lot. The Hanover Lions Club is working with the City to give the residents of Hanover an opportunity to dispose of any unwanted appliances, electronics, tires and other items that are hard to dispose of for a minimal fee. A list of acceptable items and fees is available on the City’s website. No paint or flammable or toxic chemicals or pressurized tanks will be accepted.

Spring plant sale

MAY 18 — The Wright County Horticultural Society 2013 Spring Plant and Book Sale will take place Saturday, May 18, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Sturges Park in Buffalo.

The society will have a variety of plants for sale, including perennials, annuals, vegetables and shrubs. Knowledgeable gardeners will be available to answer questions, and a master gardener will be available for “Master” information. A portion of the proceeds from the Plant Sale will help the society maintain public gardens at the Buffalo Library, and the “Welcome” sign near Buffalo Lake. MAY 21 — Hanover City Council meets Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at city hall on 11250 Fifth St.

MAY 23 — Corcoran City Council will meet will next meet Thursday, May 23, at 7 p.m. at city hall at 8200 County Rd. 116.

Movie matinee

MAY 25 — The St. Michael Public Library will have a Saturday Movie Matinee for adults, teens and preteens Saturday, May 25, 10:05 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Visit the library and take a trip to Middle Earth with Bilbo Baggins as he is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost dwarf kingdom. Steve McKee benefit

JUNE 1 — A benefit for Steve McKee is Saturday, June 1, at the St. Michael American Legion, 25 Central Ave. E, St. Michael.

He was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma March 7. He has a mass in his chest wall tissue wedged between his left lung, heart, spine, and aorta valve. He already had one surgery to remove part of the tumor affecting his spine. The evening will include a spaghetti dinner and silent auction from 3 to 7 p.m. The CRB Band will perform from 8 p.m. to close. Featuring cash bar, cash donations at the door will be greatly appreciated. Spaghetti dinner tickets are $15, kids 3 and under free. Lions tractor pull

JUNE 1 — The annual Corcoran Lions Tractor Pull is Saturday, June 1, at 7 p.m. at the Corcoran Lions Park. Free parking, more than $3,200 paid out in prizes.
