“Both the baseball and softball varsity fields will have lights,” Kirch said. “Softball has never had lights and the baseball stadium hasn’t been lighted for decades. Hopefully, the lights will be functional in a couple of days now that we’ve got weather to cooperate.”

Kirch added that the new baseball scoreboard is supposed to be installed this Tuesday. The poles were set last week.

The junior varsity game will start at 4 p.m. The dedication of the lights and scoreboard will take place after the JV game and prior to the varsity game, at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The new installations to the historic ballpark are made possible by the leadership of community leaders Shaune Younkers and Todd Eernisse. Through their efforts, Osseo School District received a $260,000 grant from the 2013 Hennepin County Youth Sports Program for the purchase and installations of the lights.

All community folks are invited to attend the event.
