LEGAL NOTICE
CITY OF INDEPENDENCE
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers at 1920 County Road 90 on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. to review the following requests:
1. A + D Properties, LLC (Applicant) and Donald Baird (Owner) request that the City consider the following actions for the property located at 2076 County Road 90, Independence, MN (PID No. 23-118-24-23-0001):
a. A variance from the side yard setback to construct a commercial building closer than 100 feet from the Agriculture zoning district.
b. Site plan approval for a new commercial building on the subject property.
2. Todd and Laurie Zaugg, owners of the property located at 5585 Lake Sarah Heights Drive (PID NO. 02-118-24-11-0015), are requesting the following action from the City:
a. A conditional use permit to allow a Non-rental Guest Apartment on the subject property.
3. A proposed text amendment to the City of Independence Ordinances as follows:
• Chapter 5, Section 530, consideration to amend the total square footage permitted for detached agricultural storage buildings, barns, or other structures, accessory to an existing single family dwelling.
The items highlighted above may have a direct or indirect effect on your property. All persons wishing to be heard with reference to these applications will be given the opportunity at this meeting. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON ASSESSMENT OF WILLOWBROOK DRIVE
OVERLAY PROJECT
Notice is hereby given that the Medina city council will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Medina city hall, 2052 Co. Rd. 24, to conduct a public hearing on special assessments against properties benefited by the Willowbrook Drive overlay project. Assessments in the amount of $11,886.50 (out of an estimate total project cost of $23,773) will be levied against all properties in the Willowbrook area benefited by the improvements. Assessments will be levied over a term of 7 years at an annual interest rate of 3.50 percent. The proposed assessment roll is on file and available for inspection at Medina city hall. Written or oral objections to the proposed assessments will be heard by the city council at the hearing. No appeal of an assessment may be taken unless a written objection signed by the property owner is filed with the city clerk prior to the hearing or presented to the presiding officer at the hearing. An owner may appeal the assessment in district court by serving a notice of the appeal on the city clerk or mayor within 30 days after adoption of the assessment and filing such notice with the district court within ten days after service on the clerk or mayor. Persons wishing to express an opinion regarding the special assessment of the project are invited to attend and testify at the hearing or to submit written comments prior to or at the hearing.
