Rogers tennis fund-raiser

MAY 2 — The Booster Club of the Rogers  High School Tennis Teams  is inviting you to attend a Wine and Beer Tasting  Event that will be Thursday, May 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rogers  Community Center, 21201 Memorial Dr. Join for a fun filled  evening with friends and enjoy some wine and beer sampling hosted by Rogers Wine and Spirits. Light appetizers will be served and door prizes given out. Admission tickets are only $15 if purchased prior to the event or $20 at the door. Rogers Revue

MAY 3 — The Rogers Hassan Senior Friendship Group will host its fifth annual Rogers Revue, a showcase of local talent, Friday, May 3, at Word of Peace Church in Rogers.

The event is a fund-raiser by the group to help fund senior programs. Harold Trombley is producing the program and will emcee. Michael Sahlen, the music director for Word of Peace, is also recruiting talent for the show as he has done each year. The number of acts will include a variety of musical instrument selections, singing performances and will include the popular Quarter to Three country western band. The Accordion Band, which first performed last year, will return this year. Tickets can be purchased in advance as well as at the door. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for students 6 to 12, and under 6 free.

Linda Johnson benefit

MAY 4 — A benefit walk/run for Linda (Holthaus) Johnson is Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m. at St. Albert Parish Center, 11458 57th St., Albertville. Cost of $20 per person includes t-shirt. Holthaus Johnson is a lifelong member of the St. Michael/Albertville community with many family and friends in the area who are looking for an opportunity to help her and her family as she suffers through ALS. Science of Music

MAY 11 -— The St. Michael Public Library is offering a musical program called The Science of Music, presented by Pages of Music, Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for children in grades 4 through 6. Pages of Music are Carrie Vecchione, oboe/English horn, and Rolf Erdahl, double bass. They both perform with orchestras and are professional music educators. Their Science of Music program teaches children about sound waves and vibrations, strings and reeds, rubber bands and straws, and how music works. The attendance limit is 50 and preregistration is required. This program is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.
