The Minnesota Aquarium’s Mini-Assembly is one of their Sea Life Outreach programs that teach children about marine life and the adaptations that various sea creatures make to inhabit their environments. Lead by a sea life expert, the hands-on activities gave each child an opportunity to explore sea life. The children were amazed to learn how large sharks really are, especially the 65’ whale shark. Galaxy student Lauren Elstad commented, “Wow. That’s bigger than the whole classroom.”

After participating in the Sea Life program, the children did an art-infused activity, drawing different sea animals and completing their own design using watercolors, to express their experience.
