Sealed bids will be received by the City of Maple Grove, Minnesota, in the City Hall at 12800 Arbor Lakes Parkway until 10:00 a.m. on March 28, 2013, at which place and time they will be publicly opened by two or more persons who have been designated by the City to open bids.
Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened.
Bids are for the furnishing of all labor and materials for the construction of a concrete skatepark in accordance with the plans and specifications, consisting primarily of the following estimated quantities:
- 7,800 square feet of concrete skatepark
- 27 pre-cast concrete skatepark components
- 1,250 square feet of concrete entrance pathways
- 1,500 square feet of concrete spectator hub
The work is located within the city of Maple Grove, Minnesota.
Plans and specifications, proposal forms and contract documents may be seen at the office of the City Clerk, Maple Grove, Minnesota.
All bids shall be sealed and marked “Maple Grove Skatepark” and shall be accompanied by a bidder’s bond naming the City of Maple Grove as obligee, certified check payable to the Clerk of the City of Maple Grove or a cash deposit equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, which shall be forfeited to the City in the event that the bidder fails to enter into a contract.
The City Council reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three lowest bidders for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.

Important Information Regarding Assessment and Classification of Property
This may affect your 2014 property tax payments.
Notice is hereby given that the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Maple Grove in Hennepin County, Minnesota shall meet on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. in the Maple Grove Government Center, City Council Chambers. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the city assessor, and to determine whether corrections need to be made.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact the Maple Grove Assessor’s Office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with the Assessor’s Office, you may appear before the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization. The Board shall review property valuation, property classification, or both if necessary, and shall make corrections as needed. Generally, an appearance before the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the County Board of Appeal and Equalization.

Transportation Services
ISD 279 announces their intent to accept quotations through March 28, 2013 to contract for the transportation of school children pursuant to M.S. Section 123B.52, subdivision 3. ISD 279 transports approximately 17,000 students per day and currently contracts for over 230 regular and special needs routes using types III, A, C and D vehicles. ISD 279 provides transportation for 30 public school sites and four non-public schools. ISD 279 public schools consist of three high schools, four junior high schools, 17 elementary schools, two early childhood centers, a Transition Plus site, and one alternative learning center.
Geographically, the school district comprises 66 square miles of urban, suburban, and rural communities. It encompasses all or part of the following municipalities: Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Dayton, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Corcoran, Hassan and Osseo.

FY 2013 MID-YEAR BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS Kelly Benusa, Director of Business Services, provided details and explained the results of the FY 2013 mid-year budget adjustments. Benusa explained that the operating fund mid-year budget adjustment had a decrease in revenue of ($179,825) and a decrease in expenditures of ($1,477,080) from the adopted budget for FY2013. The net mid-year adjustment was a positive change of $1,297,255. Motion by Chairperson Dean Henke, seconded by Director Teresa Lunt, to approve the FY 2013 mid-year budget adjustments. The motion carried unanimously.
GIFTS TO THE DISTRICT Motion by Chairperson Dean Henke, seconded by Director Teresa Lunt, to approve the Gifts to the District totaling $31,719.14. The motion carried unanimously.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING MAPLE GROVE CITY CODE REGARDING THE PROTECTION OF CERTAIN SHADE TREES
The above-referenced Ordinance amends the Maple Grove City Code by amending City Code Chapter 14, Article 3 to address all shade tree diseases and pests, not just Dutch Elm disease. This summary is adopted pursuant to Minn. Stat. §412.191, Subd. 4.

MAPLE GROVE MEETING NOTICE
STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION
The City of Maple Grove will be hosting the National Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II annual public meeting in the Mayor’s Conference Room at the City Administrative offices, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013. This public meeting will serve to inform city residents and local officials about the implementation and status of the City’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). The SWPPP may currently be viewed at the city engineering department and is available at the City’s website.
The SWPPP will be summarized in the first 20 minutes of the meeting. The remaining 40 minutes will be allotted for questions and answers. Questions and comments regarding the SWPPP may be made either verbally or in writing during the meeting. Written comments will be answered within three weeks after the public meeting. Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Maple Grove, Minnesota, at the Government Center located at 12800 Arbor Lakes Parkway until 10 A.M., CDT, on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and all else necessary for the following:

Each Bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders, shall be accompanied by a Bidder’s Bond naming the City of Maple Grove as oblige, certified check payable to the Clerk of the City of Maple Grove or a cash deposit equal to at least 5 percent of the amount of the Bid, which shall be forfeited to the City in the event that the Bidder fails to enter into a Contract.
The City Council reserves the right to retain the deposits of the 3 lowest Bidders for a period not to exceed 30 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after the date and time set for the Opening of Bids.
The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein, and further reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interests of the City.
