DES to bring Disney’s Jungle Book to life

A cast of drama students in grades three through six will bring Disney’s “Jungle Book for Kids” to the stage of Delano Middle School in performances set for Thursday, Feb. 28 through Saturday, March 2.

Performance times will be at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 and March 1, and 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on March 2. All seats will cost $5, with tickets available at the door.

Based on the popular movie, the story follows Mowgli (Hunter Elwood and Blake Koehler), a boy raised in the jungle by wolves. He tries to escape from the fierce tiger Shere Khan (Chloe Holmon and Isaac Dahle) and find his way to the Man Village. Two casts of students will perform this musical play. Songs include “Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You,” among others.

Other cast members are Baloo the Bear (Nathan Beal and Owen Dailey), Bagheera the Panther (Maria Molitor and Gianna Arthur), Kaa the Snake (Megan Benker and Anna Blonigen), and Colonel Hathi the Elephant (Sam Schuler and Grace Schaust).
