Girls head west
North Shore Gymnastics Association sent 15 girls to compete in the recent San Diego Classic.
The Level 7 team finished third out of 20 teams. Isabelle Schuster, 15, placed second on uneven bars, third on vault and beam and fifth on vault, earning her second place all-around in her age group.
Some 27 gymnasts were entered in the 11-12 age division, Brynn Lampe, 12, placed second on balance beam and fifth in the all-around.
Mary Donna Sattervall, 13, placed fourth on beam and sixth in the all-around. Mackenzie Kuphal, 13, placed third on vault and 10th on floor exercise. Kate Schmid, 13, finished seventh on bars.
Amanda Montplaisir, 12, captured fifth on beam and sixth on bars in the field of 28 in Level 8.
NSGA’s Level 9 girls placed fifth out of 10 teams. Sarah Ellingboe, 12, was fifth on bars and sixth all-around. Megan White, 14, placed second all-around and Breghan Kiloran, 14, was fourth all-around, placing fourth on beam and fifth on vault and bars. Natalie Brasket, 14, earned seventh place on bars.
Amanda Bartemio, 15, captured the all-around title in the Level 10 Division, placing second on floor and third on beam. Alex Kopp, 17, placed third on vault.
Boys compete in SSP
Boys in Levels 4-6 from North Shore Gymnastics Association (NSGA) competed at the Great Northern Invitational Jan. 19-20.
NSGA’s Level 6 team took home the second place trophy. Sam Senneka, 12, earned first place on pommel horse and third all-around. He also won third on high bar and fourth on vault.
Charlie Kramer, 12, placed first on floor and fourth on both high bar and in the all-around. Tristan Fruth, 12, placed second on pommel horse, third on floor and fifth on rings. Competing for NSGA’s Level 6 team, Ryan Klump, 9, placed first on pommel horse and rings, plus was third all-around. Kyle Elliot, 10, took third on floor and rings and fourth on pommel horse, vault, high bar and all-around.
NSGA’s Level 5 team placed fifth. Caleb Hamby, 12, finished first on bars, third on horse and high bar and fourth in the all-around.
Kastle Kalamaha, 11, placed fourth on rings and fifth on bars. Cole Smith, 9, placed third on bars and high bar, fourth on rings and was fifth all-around. Jack Yerxa, 10, placed second on vault and fifth on floor.
The Level 4 team finished fifth when Haden Paravecino, 9, placed second on floor, third on rings and fourth on bars, horse and in the all-around. Levi Sherman, 7, placed second on floor and fourth on high bar.
In the age 6 group for NSGA’s Level 4 team, Henry Meisel, 6, earned first place in Level 4 on floor and was fourth on horse. Jude Bjorlin, 6, was fourth on floor.
Xcel teams at Legacy Luau
North Shore Gymnastics Xcel teams traveled to Bloomington for the recent Legacy Luau.
The Gold team placed second when Payton Uelman earned second place all-around. Taylor Eberhardt earned her highest score on floor. Audrey Hyrkas had a standout performance on vault with 9.2. Amanda Weinberg placed third on bars.
Platinum gymnasts took fourth place. Morgan Robinson was second on beams.
In the Diamond level, Gabby Evans placed second all-around and Mara McCollor took third.
