Night Light Story Time
JAN. 31 — Infants, toddlers and preschoolers are invited to Night Light Storytime at the St. Michael Public Library on Thursday, Jan. 31, 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Cuddle up with your favorite teddy bear and snuggle in for bedtime stories. Pajamas and blankies are encouraged. Night Light Storytime will take place the last Thursday of every month. For additional information, contact the St. Michael library at 763-497-1998.
Lions ice fishing contest
FEB. 2 — The annual St. Michael Lions club Ice Fishing Contest is a go this year. The contest will be at Beebe Lake Saturday, Feb. 2, from noon to 3 pm. The contest is open to all. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 16 and under. This year’s raffle prizes include a gas powered ice auger, Vexilar FL20 Ultra, fishing equipment and various gift certificates. Tickets can be purchased at Dehmer’s Meats, Hardware Hank, Lion members, as well as other local businesses in St. Michael. The Lions and Boy Scouts will be offering food, coffee and sodas. This will be an excellent opportunity to bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun conversation and fishing. Delta Waterfowl Annual Banquet
FEB. 2 — The Marsh Madness chapter of Delta Waterfowl will be conducting its annual fund-raising banquet Saturday, Feb. 2, at the St. Michael Community Room. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. The night will include live and silent auctions, as well as gun boards and several raffles, along with a prime rib dinner. Cost of $60 includes dinner and membership. Couples are $80. First youth is $25, each additional youth just $10. Attendance is limited to 200 people, so RSVP as soon as possible to Merle Steffen at 763-682-3686.
FEB. 4 — All are invited to the 15th annual Uptown Hamel Skating and Sledding Party Saturday, Feb. 9, at Hamel Legion Park. Event is from 1 to 4 p.m. (open skating).
There will be a bonfire along with hot beverages and s’mores.

FEB. 9 — St. Michael American Legion Auxiliary invites everyone to a Valentine/Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon, Saturday, Feb. 9, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The show will be at Liberty Restaurant and Bar, 25 Central Av. E, St. Michael. Models will be wearing clothing provided by Chicos of Outlets at Albertville. Tickets for the show and luncheon are $15 pre-sale or $20 day of show. FEB. 9 — A wine & beer tasting and silent auction fund-raiser supporting the STMA All Night Graduation Party is Saturday, Feb. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive, St Michael. There will be a variety of Wines and Micro Brews for tasting and purchasing at a reduced price. All silent auction proceeds go to support the STMA 2013 All Night Grad Party. FEB. 11 — The St. Michael Daze & Knights Festival committee will be meeting to begin planning the 7th annual Festival Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Michael City Hall in the J&B Group room at 6 p.m. To be a part of the planning process or have ideas to make the event greater, join at the meeting. FEB. 15 — The St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Friends of the Library is honored to host “An Evening with Larry Millett,” Friday, Feb. 15. The event is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Library and will include a social hour where wine, coffee and a variety of desserts will be served, followed by a presentation by Millett. Millett is an author, journalist,historian and teacher. His books on the history of architecture in Minnesota have been the subject of featured programs on public televistion including, “Lost Twin Cities.” His latestbook, “Once There Were Castles,” covers ninety lost mansions of the Twin Cities, organized by city and neighborhoods, was a 2011 Minnesota Book Award Finalist. He is also the author of many mystery books including, “The Magic Bullet.” Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Crow River Senior Center, or by order form at the St. Michael Library. Both are located at 11800 Town Center Drive NE in St. Michael. He will be available following the presentation for a book signing.
FEB. 24 — Mary Queen of Peace Religious Education Breakfast with Matching Grant by Catholic United Financial is Sunday, Feb. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Church Hall, St. Martin Campus (downtown Rogers). Menu includes pancakes, sausage, hash browns, eggs, fresh fruit, doughnuts, beverage. Cost is a free will offering .
Rotary art auction
FEB. 28 — The 3rd Annual Rotary Art Auction is Thursday, Feb. 28, at 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Michael City Hall. Preview is from 5 to 6 p.m. Different this year is the artists are all local artists — from elementary school to adult local professional artists and photographers. Approximately 80 pieces will be on display and up for Live or Silent Auction. Admission is free.
