Maple Grove dance team wins 10th straight conference title

The Maple Grove High dance team wins its 10th Northwest Suburban Conference Dance Championship Jan. 12.

The Crimson won first place in varsity Jazz, varsity Kick and JV Jazz. They now advance to sections competition Feb. 2 at Wayzata High School, hoping to advance to the state championships Feb. 15 and 16 at Target Center.

This year’s team captains are: Anna Jergenson, Paige O’Leary, Madeline Schutte and Elena Smale.

Another highlight for the Crimson last week was that some of the team was able to meet Abby Lee from the Lifetime Show “Dance Moms,” who was in town with her team participating in a competition at Maple Grove High.
