Officer Denneson brought along a couple of different seats and talked about their safety features, how to properly install them into a car and how to ensure that your child is secured into the seat properly.

Close to 90 percent of car seats are installed or used improperly putting the children that sit in them at a greater risk for injury if someone is involved in a crash. With the slippery and snowy roads, now is a great time to make sure that a child safety seat in installed and used properly.

The West Hennepin Public Safety Department offers a free service of inspecting a child safety seat at their Police Station located at 1918 County Road 90 in the city of Independence. To set up an appointment, call the WHPSD for Officer Denneson at 763-479-0500.
