Arrests

Corcoran Police reported a warrant arrest Friday, Dec. 14 at 4:37 p.m. at 84XX Trail Haven Rd. Arrested was Ronald David Johnson, 46, of Corcoran for an outstanding North Dakota Felony Warrant for Fraud – Insufficient Funds Check.

Property damage

The department reported a property damage auto crash Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 5:14 p.m. in the 230XX block of County Rd. 10. The vehicle was traveling west on County Rd. 10 and slid into the ditch hitting a road sign. No injuries were reported.

The department reported a personal injury auto crash Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 2:22 p.m. in the area of 210XX block of County Rd. 50. The driver was driving a Polaris Ranger on private property. They were driving over a home-made bridge across a frozen creek when the Ranger slid off the side of the bridge. The vehicle was hung up. The driver was attempting to winch the vehicle when it rolled off the bridge and onto the driver. The driver was able to walk back to their house to call for assistance. The driver was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by North Ambulance.

Theft

Theft of Nintendo DSI was reported Monday, Dec. 10 at 1:06 p.m. in the 78XX block of Maple Hill Rd. The reporting party stated that their Nintendo DSI was taken from their residence. They believe the person that was watching their residence had a friend over and that friend took the game console. The case has been forwarded to HCSO for further investigation.

Attempted theft of funds was reported Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 4:39 p.m. in the 235XX block of Julie Ann Dr. The reporting party advised that an unknown person had attempted to remove $2,015 from their checking account via Western Union. Western Union believed the transaction might be fraudulent and stopped the transaction. No funds were taken.

Medicals

The department responded to a medical emergency Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6:56 p.m. in the 94XX block of Cain Rd. A 58 year old female was having lower back pain from a fall off a ladder. The patient was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale by North Ambulance.

The department responded to a medical emergency Saturday, Dec. 15 at 9:53 a.m. in the 66XX block of Trail Lane. A 24 year old female was having severe stomach pains and then fainted. The patient was transported to Maple Grove Hospital by North Ambulance.

The department responded to a medical emergency Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7:22 p.m. in the 105XX block of County Rd. 116. A 1 year old female was choking. Family members were able to clear the obstruction prior to EMS arrival. North Ambulance Paramedics checked the child and she was okay.

Miscellaneous

The department responded to a report of a welfare check on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 4:04 p.m. in the 76XX block of Rolling Hills Rd. The reporting party requested a welfare check on the resident. Officers went to the residence, it was dark and no one answered the door. The Officer left his information and the resident called back at 5:42 p.m. to assure the Officer they were okay.

The department responded to a report of a gas line strike on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 10:35 a.m. in the 76XX block of Commerce St. The reporting party advised a 2″ gas line had been hit and was not pinched off. The Hamel Fire department responded to assist. CenterPoint Energy responded to fix the gas line.

The department responded to a report of natural gas odor on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 8:47 a.m. in the area of County Rd. 116 and County Rd. 10. The reporting party stated they could smell a very strong odor of natural gas outside and they were unsure of the source. Officers arrived and found Northern Natural Gas was doing maintenance and refilling the odorizer.

The department responded to a report of unwanted people on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 2:23 p.m. in the 222XX block of Chaparral La. The reporting party stated there were three people in a White GMC Pickup with wood in the back. The parties were unwanted solicitors claiming to be from a tree trimming business. The Officer advised the reporting party the city does not have a solicitor’s ordinance.

The department responded to a report of a prowler on Friday, Dec. 14 at 5:11 p.m. in the 210XX block of County Rd. 10. The reporting party stated there were footprints in the snow going all around their house. Officers arrived on scene and observed the footprints went around the perimeter of the house and then back down the driveway. Officers advised the reporting party to call 911 if they see any suspicious activity.

The department responded to a report of a grass fire on Friday, Dec. 14 at 6:07 p.m. in the 207XX block of County Rd. 10. The reporting party stated there were large flames, approximately 20-30 feet high and possibly 10 feet wide. The reporting party could not tell if it was a controlled burn or not. Officers arrived to find a brush fire. Hamel Fire Department extinguished the fire.

The department responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Friday, Dec. 14 at 9:54 p.m. in the 62XX block of County Rd. 19. The Officer observed an occupied vehicle at the closed business. The occupants advised they were just talking. The Officer told them to leave the closed business.

The department responded to a report of a loud party on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 1:07 a.m. in the 210XX block of County Rd. 50. The reporting party stated there was a loud party and they were parking so people were blocked in. The Officers advised the party to turn the music down and to move vehicles around.
