COLUMN: Wright County okays road sign program

The Wright County Board, Tuesday, Nov. 27, approved the phase two county/township road sign program for all 18 townships. The project includes updating of all road signs and will be 80 percent federally funded.
We approved a request from the board of the Crow River Organization of Water for the county to act as a fiscal agent for them.
We authorized the county’s share of the local match for the Bertram Chain of Lakes acquisition. The vote was 3-2, as always.
We voted to continue for five years the joint powers agreement for the Shoreland Authority with Corinna Township.
We scheduled a bid opening for Jan. 15 for the county street intersection lighting project, which is federally funded.
We cancelled the Jan. 9 committee meeting.
The previous week, the Wright County Board received a request to abandon a portion of County Ditch 41. We directed the auditor to get more information. We also approved a request for repair on County Ditch 16.
On a recommendation from the Planning Commission, we approved rezoning of 40 acres from Agriculture to R-2 and approved the plat entitled “Dickenson Spring Industrial Park Fourth Addition” — both in Rockford Township.
We authorized signatures on the septic loan note and disclosure notices.
We scheduled a Dec. 1 public hearing to amend the Wright County Water Surface Use Ordinance.
We scheduled the employee recognition ceremony for 10 a.m., March 19.
We authorized signatures on the labor agreement with Teamsters Local No. 320, Non-licensed Sheriff Supervision Unit.
We reviewed and approved minutes on recommendations from the Building and Personnel Committee meetings.
