Adapted soccer tourney
The state tournament for both the CI and PI divisions of adapted soccer will be held Nov. 16 and 17 at Stillwater High School.
The Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs will compete in both. The CI Mustangs finished their regular season with a 5-2-1 record, while the PI group ended up 6-2-1 during the season.
Both teams will play Friday, Nov. 16 in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament.
The entire consolation round, state semifinal round, and championship games will be held Saturday, Nov. 16.
The state title game on the PI division is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m., and the CI championship game will start at 4 p.m.
Arias is All-Tourney
Champlin Park senior Esteban Arias was named to the Class AA boys state soccer All-Tournament team.
Arias scored the Rebels lone goal in a 2-1 quarterfinal round loss to eventual Class AA runner-up Blaine.
Puck drops for boys
Practice started this week for the Champlin Park boys hockey team.
The Rebels are coming off a 12-14 season in 2011-12.
Champlin Park will open its season at Eden Prairie Thursday, Nov. 29.
