LETTER: Support Wyman in Three Rivers Park Board

To the Editor:

As the current Chairman of Three Rivers Park District Board, I am supporting Sara Wyatt for the District One (including Rogers, Corcoran, Greenfield, Independence, Loretto and Rockford) Three Rivers Park Commissioner.

Like all public agencies, Three Rivers faces the challenges of continuing to provide the excellent facilities and services that our users have come to expect.

For the past three years Wyatt has promoted a 0% tax levy increase, and for two terms she has worked tirelessly to make sure that Three Rivers Park District is one of the leading park systems in the country.

She has consistently supported development of the regional trail system which is now enjoyed by over 4,000,000 visitors annually. She has also been active in programs to improve water quality and to protect lakes from aquatic invasive species. Time and time again, Sara has proven that she is a creative and dedicated leader who helps the Park District meet its financial and environmental challenges.

Sara Wyatt is a great member of the board, one I am very proud to work with and one who works hard to preserve and protect the future of the great parks, trails and natural areas that we all love.

Please join me in supporting Sara Wyatt for District One Three Rivers Park Commissioner Nov. 6.

Larry Blackstad,

Three Rivers Park

District Board Chairman

I have yet to see any action taken by the park board to assure that all of the trails you make much to do about are usable during the winter months. She was made aware of the expectation that this would be a prime issue in the coming election. The electorate will pay attention to not only the platitudes listed above the specifics of accomplishments requested.
