The following incidents were reported by West Hennepin Public Safety between July 29 and Aug. 25.
On July 29, at 2:50 a.m. Andrea Lee Diaz, 21 from Willmar was sited for a third degree DWI and child endangerment, AC. 13 at Highway 12/N County Road 92. Diaz’s 5-year-old son was in the vehicle and was transported to St. Joseph’s Home for Children in Minneapolis. Diaz had an outstanding felony warrant for third degree assault and was transported to the Hennepin County Jail where she was booked in on 3rd degree DWI charges and the warrant.
On July 30, at 10:39 a.m. there was a report of tools and a couple of fans stolen from a shed on the 7100 block of Pioneer Creek Road.
On Aug. 4, at 9:41 a.m. an animal owner reported her donkey was stuck in the mud at 15 Copeland Road. The farm hand and officer tried to pull the donkey out with a strap and four wheeler winch but it did not have enough power. They started gathering plywood, shovels and straps to assist in the rescue. Maple Plain Fire Rescue responded and assisted in digging the donkey out. The vet also responded to the scene.
On Aug. 6, at 9:09 a.m. there was a report at Pioneer Creek Park that someone did donuts with their vehicle in the grass on the Southside by the jungle gym at 2055 County Road 90. There was extensive damage, deep ruts in the grass. The tire tracks were wide and appeared to be from a truck of some type.
On Aug. 6, at 4 p.m. there was a report that a screen was pulled out of a door and entry made into the house on the 7200 block of Highway 12.
On Aug. 7, at 12:20 p.m. a 17-year-old male driver from Maple Plain northbound on the 2400 block of Copeland Road, traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of his vehicle, began to swerve side to side, entered the ditch on the southbound side, striking a driveway approach head-on, and the vehicle was spun back up onto the roadway. A 16-year-old male from Independence was air lifted with possible internal injuries. Both the front passenger, 17-year-old male from Delano with possible internal pain and leg injuries and the driver had facial lacerations and possible internal injuries, were transported to North Memorial Hospital by Ambulance. Charges pending to driver.
On Aug. 10, at 9:09 a.m. there was a report of a garage door kicked in, windows broken and two Coke fountain drink cups were left inside on the 5900 block of Pagenkopf Road. Shoe prints in the dirt shed was left by the suspects and same shoe prints were inside the home and garage. Hennepin County Sheriff’s Crime Lab arrived and processed the scene for fingerprints, shoe prints and DNA. Case under investigation.
On Aug. 11, at 4:44 a.m. Corey David Meyer, 25, of Buffalo was arrested for a fourth degree DWI, possession of marijuana in motor vehicle and drug paraphernalia, with AC. 10 at County Road 11/County Road 92.
On Aug. 12, at 12:38 a.m. Casey Michael Homberger, 24, of Loretto was arrested for a fourth degree DWI, AC. 08 on the 6500 block of County Road 11.
On Aug. 18, at 10:01 a.m. a 17-year-old juvenile driver from Rockford stated that he had left for work, was day dreaming, going too fast and lost control of his vehicle, went into the ditch striking 3 to 4 pine trees on the 2800 block of Lake Sarah Road. The driver was not injured and was issued a citation for failure to drive with due care.
On Aug. 19, at 2:46 p.m. Douglas Michael Basche, 47 of Belle Plain was arrested for domestic abuse no contact (DANCO) violation on the 3600 block of Ihduhapi Trail.
On Aug. 21, at 4:53 p.m. there was a report of fraudulent charges on a credit card on the 2600 block of Valley Road.
On Aug. 23, at 9:51 a.m. there was a report of DSI XL, dog grooming equipment, clippers, blades, shears, nail clippers, horse game, Hyundai Sante Fe 952BMU, sub woofers P400 4 channel amp and other items stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 2500 block of Valley Road.
On Aug. 24, at 1:06 a.m. Jeffrey Lawrence Pesch, 47 of Rockford was arrested for a fourth degree DWI, AC .15 on the 5800 block of County Road 11.
On Aug. 25, at 1:26 p.m. there was a report of several spotlights on police squads were cracked on the 1900 block of County Road 90.
On Aug. 9, at 8:25 a.m. there was a report of three thank you letters thanking her for opening credit accounts with their companies. The accounts were opened with another person’s name with the reporting party address. Happened on the 5300 block of Clayton Drive.
On Aug. 10, at 7:41 p.m. Megan Mary Rae, 26, of Eden Prairie was arrested for a fourth degree DWI, AC .14 at Highway 12 /Willow.
Aug. 19, at 12:10 a.m. there was a report that a food vender poured hot oil into a plastic gallon container, the plastic container melted and the grease began to spray all over and outside his trailer on the 5300 block of Main Street. Grease splashed on the legs and feet of a 41-year-old female and a 45-year-old male, both from Esko. Both victims were transported to HCMC burn unit.
On Aug. 19, at 11:26 a.m. there was a report of a bracelet lost at the Maple Plain Centennial Celebration. Bracelet is silver with turquoise.
On Aug. 23, at 5:27 a.m. there was a report of credit cards stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 6000 block of Main Street
On Aug. 23, at 9:44 a.m. there was a report of a stereo stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 8500 block of Hitsman Lane.
On Aug. 23, at 10:43 a.m. there was a report of cash and gold coins stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 5800 block of Three Oaks.
On Aug. 23, at 3:01 p.m. there was a report of a GPS, iPod and other items stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 5700 block of Three Oaks.
On Aug. 24, at 10:16 p.m. there was a report that a non-custodial father arranged for a cab company to pick up his juvenile son to take him to the airport and had purchased an airline ticket for him to fly to Texas. Father was located and instructed to return his son as he did not have the right to that without the custodial mother’s permission. Charges pending on the 5200 block Clayton Drive.
