Rockford fall sports teams back in action

The Rockford girls soccer teams will be tested early and often by playing four games in six days to start the season along with other Rocket squads.

Rockford opens at Sauk Rapids, 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, before coming home to face Watertown-Mayer, 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. The Rockets go to Spectrum Monday, Aug. 27 at a time to be announced and is home to Southwest Christian, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Boys soccer opens with three home games on the football field. Rockford plays host to Princeton, 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, Heritage Christian Academy, 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 and Watertown-Mayer, 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Volleyball starts the season at home against St. Anthony Village, 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, before going to Fridley, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Cross country has the first meet at Maple Lake, 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

The football team gets started at home against Watertown-Mayer, 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.
