The Dist. 728 School Board approved a modification to the 2012-13 school calendar that Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, and Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, will be two-hour early release days.
These four hours will be used by educators to complete grading, report cards, planning, communication tasks and training teaching assistants. ISD 728 educators will also be working on the following district strategic plan initiatives:
• Response-to-Intervention (RtI);
• Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
• Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and the school district’s new
• Math and language arts programs.
The school district began notifying all school district families July 24, 2012.
In the messages Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Jana Hennen-Burr writes, “I assure you that each of the projects and tasks our educators will be working on is focused on improving the educational achievements of every student,” she said. “Thank you for your support of our mission of educating, inspiring and empowering all of our diverse learners and collaboratively, we will shape their futures, accomplish their dreams and contribute positive to our local and global communities.”
