A Brooklyn Park barn, located just north of Osseo and east of Maple grove, was fully engulfed in flames in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 27.
Brooklyn Park Fire Deputy Chief Rodger Coppa Jr. said the fire department responded to the barn fire at 1:52 a.m. in the southeast corner of the intersection of 101st Avenue and Jefferson Highway.
"First-arriving units found a fully involved barn with significant flying embers," he said. "Spot fires were found down wind and extinguished."
Mutual aid was also provided by the Osseo Fire Department due to the lack of hydrants in that area.
The incident did attract some media attention. An eyewitness Catherine Thompson said the barn was abandoned.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes. There were no injuries.
