The Osseo School Board gave Supt. Kate Maguire a glowing review of her second year of performance.
At the board’s June 19 meeting, Chair Dean Henke announced the board gave Maguire an overall score of 4.46 on a scale of 1-5, placing her performance between "very good" and "outstanding."
He said board members rated her performance in six areas: policy governance; planning and assessment; instructional leadership; organizational management; communications and community relations; and professionalism.
"On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Dr. Maguire for a job well done in her second year as superintendent."
Comments from the evaluation forms commended Maguire for working well with the board, for supporting the strategic plan, for building relationships in the community and for researching issues thoroughly.
Comments on areas of improvement focused on the need to constantly monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and their effect on student learning. They said special emphasis should be given to implementation of standards-based grading.
Maguire’s contract allows the board to give her a performance incentive based on completion of agreed-upon objectives.
