On Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, Leone Gervais (nee Greeninger) passed away. She was 93 years of age.
Her husband, Clem, preceded her in death in 2001. He was the great-grandson of the co-founder of Osseo, Louis Pierre Gervais who came with Pierre Bottineau around 1850.
Although Leone and Clem Gervais did not have children of their own, together their were the patriarch of the nieces and nephews of Clem’s brothers: Melvin, Victor Sr., Donald Sr., LeRoy and sister Gertrude Schmidt, all deceased. Clem was the youngest son of Emery and Rose Gervais.
The members of the Greeninger and Gervais families will miss Leone as this is the passing of an era to the new younger generation.
A mass was held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Sacred Heart Church of Robbinsdale, with burial at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Osseo.
