The district released a statement: “After discussions and a preliminary investigation, ISD 728 Staff and the Rogers Police Department have deemed students are safe, but will remain vigilant. Rogers Middle School and Rogers High School students have now returned to the regular school day, but will remain indoors until the investigation is complete. The Rogers Police Department and ISD 728 personnel will continue to collaborate and communicate information as it becomes available. As always, students are encouraged to report safety concerns to District staff and ask for additional staff support if needed.”
Reports indicate that a student received an anonymous text saying someone “knew how to get into that school” and would commit “an active shooter event” Monday.
The student reported the text to teachers, and the school was then placed under lockdown. Police were reported to be tracking down the number responsible for the text message.
