Maple Grove Police

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in the city during the week of July 23, 2017 through July 29, 2017. Refer to the city’s website Crime Mapping Section for additional details for the crimes of burglary, robbery, arson, theft and vehicle theft.
Sunday, July 23
8400 block of Rice Lake Road — There was a report of a vehicle gone through overnight. Nothing of value taken.
16000 block of 90th Ave. — There was a report of a verbal domestic. Officer responded, nothing physical had occurred and argument had been resolved.
Travis Vue, 27, of Rogers was cited for failure to obey traffic control device, improper left, third degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08, third degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty and careless driving at Bass Lake Road and Jewel Lane N.
Dakota Roebuck, 21, of Coon Rapids was cited for third degree DWI refuse to submit to chemical test, third degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty, third degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08 and careless driving.
Mohammad Beliad, 41, of Maple Grove was cited for fifth degree assault, temporary order of custody/dissolution/legal separation, domestic abuse-violation of no contact order and disorderly conduct on the 12000 block of Central Park Way.
Monday, July 24
9200 block of Xenium Lane — There was a report of a catalytic converter cut from a vehicle parked in a driveway overnight.
16500 96th Ave. — There was a report of a dog left unattended in a vehicle. Officer responded, noting the temperature was elevated inside. The owner was given a verbal warning.
8400 block of Forestview Lane — There was a report of child’s bicycle stolen from outside of a home.
7800 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. Officer made contact and confirmed male was a registered guest who was just using Wi-Fi outside since it was a nice evening.
Ryan Hoyt, 39, of Maple Grove was cited for criminal vehicular operation, third degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08 and third degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty at Dunkirk Lane and Weaver Lake Road N.
Tuesday, July 25
16000 block of 96th Ave. — There was a report of an unknown tent set up on individual’s property. Officer responded and found no evidence of owner. A tent was removed and property inventoried.
Arbor Lakes Parkway & Hemlock Lane — There was a report of two people swimming in a lake. Officer responded and found individuals snorkeling; who were unaware of city ordinance. They were cooperative and left.
9000 block of 69th Ave. — There was a report of multiple items stolen from a vehicle including a laptop, headphones, and checkbook. Party was informed by bank that suspect had tried to cash one of the checks in another city. Further investigation being conducted.
David Hancks, 29, of Woodbury was cited for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia at Elm Creek Blvd. and Hwy. 610.
Wednesday, July 26
19000 block of 63rd Place — There was a report of a fire in a trailer parked in the street. Officer responded, fire apparently started due to spontaneous combustion from stain and used rags stored inside. Followed up by Maple Grove Fire Department.
9800 block of Maple Grove Parkway — There was a report of a purse stolen from a locked vehicle parked outside a business. The suspect gained access by smashing a window.
9600 block of Upland Lane — There was a report of a disorderly party at a place of business. The individual had become irate and abusive. Officer responded and suspect was trespassed.
Thursday, July 27
19000 block of 81st Place — There was a report of a missing child. An officer responded and located the child who was hiding in residence.
12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of shoplifting from a retail store. A follow-up investigation is being done to identify the suspect.
12700 block of 74th Ave. — There was a report of loud talking outside of a residence. An officer made contact, and individuals complied with the request for quiet.
Elijah Sullivan, 25, of Minneapolis was cited for domestic abuse-violating no contact order.
Mackenzy Taylor, 23, of Maple Grove was cited for domestic abuse on the 9400 block of Ranchview Lane N.
Friday, July 28
6500 block of Juneau Lane — There was a report of a diaper bag stolen overnight from an unlocked vehicle parked in driveway of residence.
6800 block of Magda Drive — There was a report of a male sleeping in a vehicle for over two hours at a park. Officer responded and found driver of vehicle was just reading a book.
12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of two individuals fishing in the lake. Officer responded and advised cooperative parties of the ordinance.
6600 block of Empire Court — There was a report of a vehicle stolen from a garage. The keys were left in car and garage door left open. Vehicle recovered in another jurisdiction and suspects arrested.
Hamda Ahmed, 22, of Minneapolis was cited for liability for crimes of another on the 12900 block of Elm Creek Blvd. N.
Saturday, July 29
16000 block of 96th Ave. — There was a report of an injury at a place of business. Officer responded and monitored individual until ambulance arrived and transported victim to the hospital for further care.
6200 block of Merrimac Lane — There was a report of an unfamiliar male riding repeatedly up and down the street on his bike. Officers responded but individual was gone upon arrival.
I-94 & Hemlock Lane — There was a report of an erratic driver. Officer responded. Brian Degen, 50, of Owatonna was cited for second degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty, second degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08, careless driving and open bottle.
Curtis Carey, 53, of Maple Grove was cited for third degree DUI and third degree DWI refusal to submit to chemical test at Pineview Lane and Weaver Lake Road N.
Alexandra Ross, 22, of Plymouth was cited for third degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty, violating limited driver’s license conditions, third degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08, reckless driving and hit and run traffic accident on the 12300 block of Elm Creek Blvd. N.
Raven Day, 26, of Minneapolis was cited for family-contributing to the delinquency of a minor and shoplifting on the 12400 block of Elm Creek Blvd. N.
Devona Engelke, 26, of Minneapolis was cited for family-contributing to the delinquency of a minor and shoplifting on the 12400 block of Elm Creek Blvd. N.

During this time period, there were 29 property damage traffic accidents and two property damage injury traffic accidents.
