Stephen Willard Weinand

Stephen Willard Weinand, age 63, of Swanville and formerly of Corcoran died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at The St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born in Buffalo on April 7, 1954 the son of Willard E. & Vivian E. (Lucier) Weinand. Baptized on April 25, 1954. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on October 5, 1969 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover. Steve graduated from Buffalo High School in 1972 and was named All Conference football player both as a Junior and Senior. He later attended Winona State and Mankato State Universities where he also played football. Steve farmed his whole life and was a Pioneer Seed Salesman. He was proud of his sweet corn he raised and sold. He was a long time auctioneer and former partner with Carl Tessmer in Lakeland Feeder Pigs. He was a past livestock judge for the Hennepin County Fair. Steve received his realtor license later in life. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
Survived by children: Kenneth Weinand of Watford City, ND and JoAnna Weinand of Corcoran; brothers: Kevin (Mary) Weinand of Rogers and Allan Weinand of Decorah, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Steve Weinand were held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Pastor Leon Stier officiated. Interment followed at The Greenwood Methodist Cemetery in Burschville.
A visitation was held on Thursday, July 27th from 4-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Further visitation was held on Friday morning, July 28th one hour prior to services.
Casket Bearers: Jeff Schalo, Ron Schmid, Gary Dixon, Kelly, Ron and Zach Weinand.
