Rockford’s U12 Green took second place at the Crow River 12B Tournament in Winsted last weekend to go 20-8 on the season.

The Rockets defeated Annandale Cardinals 13-1 in the first game, followed by a 4-1 victory over Norwood-Young America.

In the semifinals, Rockford edged Hutchinson 2 6-3 to earn a spot in the title game Sunday against Annandale Red Birds. A Rocket comeback fell short in the 7-6 defeat.

So far two teams from the Rockford Area Athletic Association have qualified for Minnesota Sports Federation state tournaments. The age 11AA team plays July 28-30 in Mankato and 13AA plays July 28-30 in Marshall.
