Rockford trap shooters win league title

Rockford’s trap shooting team captured the conference title and will next enter the section tournament in Alexandria, Friday, June 16, hoping to advance to the state tournament.
Head coach Scott Kisner said outstanding coaching done by Jason Doboszenski and Rick Schmitz helped to raise every shooter’s average from last year. Rockford had 35 shooters finish with averages over 19.
Paige Rhode was the first girl in the team’s history to shoot a score of 25 in a round to go with 49 for the day.
Hunter Petron shot the only 50 for the team this year, but Jack Mason and Chance Palmer also hit 49 at the end of the regular season.
Paige Rhode and Karly Vogel finished as the top two girls in the conference. Rockford had six of the top 10 girls in the conference.
