The Lady Knights golf team set a school record with a score of 351 at Monticello, finishing third behind Buffalo (333) and Rogers (350).
Ashley Conrad led the girls with a score of 82. Grace Haakenson finished with an 84 score. Maddy Sawyer had a 90, and young Ellie Breuer scored a 95.
Coach Mitch Harmoning said that scores have been dropping and the team has been fortunate to play in some better weather. He added that Conrad had played well in the previous meet at Alexandria, shooting an 83 while recording an eagle. Harmoning said that the girls keep getting closer to Rogers, but have been unable to pass them, citing a strong lineup from top to bottom for the Royals.
Harmoning also mentioned Haakenson’s steady start to the year.
“Breaking that 80 barrier has been a goal for Grace this year,” he said.
The Lady Knights played in a conference meet against Big Lake, Buffalo, Monticello and Rogers Tuesday.
The Cedar Creek Invitational is Thursday.
