New summer kids programs offered in Osseo

Kids don’t have to go far to have fun this summer. The city of Osseo is coordinating summer recreation activities for its young residents in June, July, and August. Children ages 2-14 can sign up for exploring art classes, skill-building sports classes, or action-packed week long sports day-camp programs. Registration is now open for these new summer kids programs.

On Monday afternoons, Merry Time Arts offers Parent-Child Art classes for ages 2 to 5, plus School-Aged classes for ages 6 to 12. Costs are as little as $17.50 for a single class for Osseo residents or $25 for nonresidents. Register for all five classes and receive a $25 discount. Everyone is invited to join in a free group mural painting exercise on Aug. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Osseo Community Center.

Budding athletes can join weeknight Skill-Building Sports classes in soccer, baseball, tennis, and flag football. Classes are offered as six-week sessions on Monday or Wednesday nights at Sipe Park. Resident registration is just $28 ($40 non-resident). Multi-sport day camps for ages 5 to 14 are planned in June, July, and August. Flexible registration options are available; sign up for just a day, or register for the whole week for best value. Friday Field Trips are included in June and August Camps. Sports programming is held in Sipe Park, with staff and materials provided by Revolutionary Sports.

Osseo residents receive a special discounted registration rate. These discounts are subsidized by Youth Recreation funds in the city’s budget. Rates are available on a first-come, first-served basis for Osseo, Minnesota residents, as long as funds are available.

Find registration forms online at or pick them up at Osseo City Hall.
