The Lady Knights softball team finished off a long eight game week with a win against Wayzata and a loss against Rogers.

Six RBI by Molly Wilde paced the Lady Knights in a 17-9 win over the Wayzata Trojans on Monday.

Wilde had two hits including a home run and scored three times. STMA pounded out 19 hits, with Katie Bierstedt, Elle Potts and Lexy Fuerstenberg combining for nine of those hits and five RBI.

Zoee Miller, Riley Carlson, Bierstedt, Potts and Maren Hamann recorded doubles. Carlson pitched seven innings and gave up five earned runs, earning the win thanks to plenty of run support.

A tired Knights team managed only two hits in a 2-0 loss to Rogers.

Brooke Burditt pitched six innings, giving up two runs on five hits.

Manager Kellie Shumway said that the girls were looking forward to having a bit of a break, as the long week had taken its toll.

“Defense is going to help us to win games however, we still have to score runs,” Shumway said.

The Knights played Big Lake on Tuesday. They host Buffalo on Thursday and finish the regular season at Blaine on Friday.
