Tom Lynch

Tom Lynch, 73, of Albertville, MN, died on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo, MN.
A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, IA with Perry Hunter officiating. Interment was at the Sheridan Cemetery near Grinnell.
Tom was born on September 12, 1943, in Grinnell,
IA to Truman and Gilma Slagle Lynch. He was raised in Grinnell, Cosgrove, Iowa, Emmons, Minnesota and later graduated from Glenville, Minnesota High School in 1961. After high school, he attended Morningside College in Sioux City, IA.
Tom was a member of the Corinthian Lodge #67 in Farmington, MN. Tom had a successful career in the automotive business. He worked at Ford dealerships in Grinnell, IA and Rosemount, MN. Later, he worked in sales and management for Carquest and as a shared ownership in a NAPA store in Eagan, MN.
Tom’s hobbies included fishing, trap shooting, hunting, cooking, traveling, motorcycles and cars. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins and enjoyed telling jokes. Family was very important to him and he was very grateful of time spent with his uncle, Floyd Hunter and cousins, Dan, Bill, Terry, Jackie, Pat, Pam, Kent, Steve, Greg, Perry, Kris, Sam, Randy, Lynette and Jeff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Doc and Bertha Slagle and William Thomas and Josie Lynch; and his aunts and uncles, Willard Slagle, Kenneth and Gretchen Gross, Wayne and Jean Puls, Elsie Hunter and Lyle Lynch; and his cousin, Terry Gross.
